ARIZONA'S LONGEST YARD SALE
July 9th-7-am to noon.
held in the Standin on the corner park. Had a great turn out all over town. Had Leupp and Holbrook sellers.Over 50 participants on our list plus several private sales held the same day.
 
 
We will have a manned table of misc. items to sell to raise money for our club.
An additional table for baked
goods.(will benefit HOBY)We supported 2 scholars in 2011. We also supported a  candidate to the world seminar.
 
Aug.13 we held our meeting at La Posada. We combined a tour of Women's history in Az. with a lecture about Mary Coulter. We then had a district meeting attended by District Pres. Jennie O"Ocallahan. Followed by a club meeting.
 
The Fall District conference was Sept 24 at La Posada. Our done in a day donation was all types of paper goods to be distributed through out Winslow.We had local historian Janice Griffin present a talk of Winslow history.
 
We are looking for a large Club turn out for the 100th Az Birthday celebration. The state convention will be in Late April.
 
We furnished Alice's Place with a  cruise control mechanism to make the driver's transport easier.
 
 
We sponsored the 4th annual 10K for the Cure. The cancer walk on Oct.8. We erein charge of getting water stations set up and manning them with the help of the high school students and  a sign contest.The student turnout was tremendous. The cheerleaders welcome backed all participants.Rodney Rucker donated his motorized stagecoach for survivors.
 
The Tour of Homes was held on December 4th 2011 and will again benefit Alice's Place.We had 5 homes. 2 historic homes and our business entry was Snowdrift Art Space. Dan Lutzig(local sculptor and partner in La Posada) and his wife Ann Mary(Old Trails Museum director)helped host a wonderful presentation of their space. Local member Annette Shipley was our Acapella singer at the space. It was a wonderful turn out and the weather cooperated.
 
We are collecting old print cartiridges for Kids thru Verizon.
For children of Domestic violence survivors.
 
We are still collecting cellphones for Hopeline(domestic violence) and Cell phones for Soldiers.(Public Affairs) In 2010 we shipped over 100 phones to Cellphones for Soldiers.
 
March meeting will be the 13th at
Alice Grahams' at 6:30.
 
Spring Conference is March 31 in Prescott at the Golden Corral at 9:30AM-1PM
 
State Convention is in Tucson the weekend of April 27th-29th. More info available soon.

PS. Anyone with artificial flowers please donate to club for the maintenance of our city planter at the Police Dept.Bert and Susan got it ready for the holidays with poinsettas.We change the flowers with the seasons.
